The Year in Review

From all of us here at The Plans HE Has For You Ministries we hope you had a very merry and blessed Christmas and wish you a prosperous upcoming New Year.
We want to thank you from the bottom of our heart for having a part in making our first full year in operation such a success.  Through your support of prayers and finances we were able to impact the lives of nearly 400 children, to show them the love of Jesus Christ and to have a part in giving them a hope and future.
A February trip to Kenya laid the groundwork for our program, with meeting the school leaders to assess needs, take count of students and to engage local seamstresses to produce a new uniform for every child in the school.  Upon returning to the States after this quick trip, planning commenced to take a team back to hold a Vacation Bible School in conjunction with delivering the uniforms and supplies.
In late-July, our team of 16 left for Kenya to share God's love and to provide the nearly 300 students of Nduchi Primary School with new uniforms and school supplies (Photos here).  This is the local village school the children from Haven on the Hill Children's Home attend.  We were graciously hosted by Haven for our stay in Kenya and were also able to minister to a visiting children's home and provide backpacks and school supplies for over 50 children.  In addition, our time in Kenya was spent ministering in various other ways to families in the village.

Upon our return home, we still had an overflowing abundance of supplies and were able to share them with South Texas Children's Home at their Boothe campus near Pettus, Texas.  STCH is home to more than 60 children who are given the opportunity to grow and thrive in a stable home setting.
All in all, through your gifts and God's blessings in 2016 we were able to distribute 275 uniforms, 350 backpacks, 850+ notebooks, 1,000+ exercise books, 1,700+ ballpoint pens, 4,000+ pencils, 600 erasers and pencil sharpeners, and 400+ toothbrushes.  As we began planning at the beginning of the year I never imagined the overflowing abundance that God would provide through you.  Thank You!
We have started planning and preparation for our 2017 programs and have set a fundraising goal of $15,000!  Through your ongoing support we are currently a little over halfway to our goal.  2017 will see us return to Kenya to again work with the Nduchi Primary School.  We will add shoes to our program this year.  We are also exploring partnerships with other organizations that work with children in Kenya to give them a chance for an education to provide hope for a future.  In addition, we are looking at ways to enhance and expand our relationship with STCH and other children's organizations in Texas.  There is still time to get your 2016 donations in. Would you consider supporting us?  Just click the Donate button to the right.
Again, thank you for taking this journey with us to help children see God's love and have a hope and a future through education.  You have made a Kingdom impact and we are forever grateful.

#GivingTuesday

As you consider your year-end gifts, why not consider giving the gift of education to a needy child.  See our #GivingTuesday page for ways to support.  Give this gift in honor of a loved one or as that gift for the person that has everything.  We will send each person that you donate in honor of or as a gift to a personal card describing the gift with our deepest thanks.  Your support makes it possible for us to work with a rural village school in the mountains of central Kenya with nearly 300 students.  This support eases the burden of these children to receive a proper education and to give each of them a hope and a future.

Off to Africa!

The bags are packed, weighed, and we are ready to head to the airport tomorrow. (Pray that we weighed correctly and they come in at 50 lbs or less on the KLM scales. Last year each of my bags was a few pounds over, UGH)
Great NEWS, we received all the funds we needed and we have enough school supplies to fill over 350 backpacks for the children at the Nduchi Primary School and to give to the visiting orphanage backpacks as well. We are so excited to arrive in Kenya and see the boys at Haven on the Hill Children's Home!!! We will spend our first few days getting all the backpacks individually filled with school supplies and matching them up with the individually made uniforms for each of the children at the Nduchi school. We will be visiting families in the community, prepping for VBS, and sharing the LOVE of JESUS!! Below are pictures from our packing parties! On left is from our packing party in TX and on the right our friends from PA. Look at the beautiful weather in PA. They were able to pack outside. We are so excited to see what God is going to do at our VBS, and with the people we will encounter.
Please pray for our Traveling Safety, and for us to make an impact for the Kingdom of GOD. When we get back, I will be working on our next newsletter!

Countdown to Kenya 2016!

We are just ten weeks out from leaving for Kenya!  While that may seem like a lot of time, we still have much preparation, both in the sense of organization and coordination, but also to quiet our hearts and minds for what God is preparing for us.

We have a team of 17 goers that is made up of a mixture of family and friends who all share the desire to love on God's children and help to provide them with a hope and a future.  Our team is a mixture of first-timers and old-timers (eight have been to Haven at least once).  Our plans for our stay in Kenya includes holding two days of Vacation Bible School activities at Nduchi Primary School, and at the conclusion of the two days each student will receive a backpack that contains and new uniform and school supplies.  During the two days of VBS we will share God's love through stories, skits, games and crafts.  We will also have the chance to minister to the nearly 60 children of a neighboring children's home that will come to Haven on the Hill (where we will be based over our nearly two-week stay) for a one-day event where our main message to the children will be of God's love and that he made each child special.  We will also be giving each child that comes a jacket, blanket, Bible and backpack with school supplies.  Other than preparation for these ministry opportunities, we will also spend time loving on the boys at Haven and also visiting and ministering to those in the community.  We will also find time to squeeze in birthday celebrations, not only for the boys at Haven, but also for a few in our team.

2016 Program Fundraising Goal
Through the major generosity of all of our partners, we are at 98% of the needed funds to cover our program.  Your giving has allowed us to purchase nearly 300 uniforms (made locally in Kenya to support their local economy), and enough backpacks and school supplies to not only provide to Nduchi Primary School but also to another area children's home.  We have already paid the first installment for the uniforms and have ordered all of the school supplies here in the U.S.  We will also be buying some supplies local and will rely on meeting the final portion of our goal to cover that.

A final request is for prayer partners that will pray for our team as we prepare and throughout our journey.  If you would be willing, please contact us, either through Facebook or at PHHYMinistries@gmail.com and we will give your more specific information.

Once again, thank you so much for the support.  We want to keep God at the head of all that we do, and move in the ways that He would have us move.  It is only through Him that we may truly have life and have it more abundantly!

501c3 Tax-exemption Received!

We received our official notice of tax-exemption this past week.  Praise the Lord!  His timing is always perfect.  We are now one quarter of the way to our fundraising goal of $7,500 for our Kenya program for this summer.  A big thank you to all of those who have supported the effort so far.

Robert will be leaving for Kenya in less than three weeks for a planning and preparation trip.  Please be in prayer as he goes - for doors to open, opportunities to share, and for connections and friendships to be made.

Planning Trip to Kenya

Robert will be travelling to Kenya the last week of February to plan and lay the foundations for our ministry trip this summer.  He is meeting up with our friend Janice from Haven on the Hill Children's Home and plans to meet with the leaders of the Nduchi Primary School as well as the uniform supplier, Lord willing.  Please be in prayer for this trip, that the Lord will open doors and help us to identify the ways that he would want to be glorified.

Once back from Kenya, we will commence plans for planning the dates to return in the summer (most likely late July-early August).  We will likely need assistance, so consider if the Lord may be leading you to travel to Kenya and get involved.  Please contact us for more information.

Online Donating Available!

Happy New Year to everyone.  We now have the ability to accept donations online through PayPal.  The Donate button on the right sidebar will take you there.  Our initial fundraising goal is $7,500.  We are 20% of the way there with $1,500 so far.  Please consider supporting our ministry.  Remember, a single $25 donation can provide a uniform, backpack and school supplies for one child.  Every little bit helps!

One last note: our 501(c)(3) application is still in progress, but should be actioned within the next 90 days, so any donations made will qualify for tax deduction once the tax-exemption is received.
