Here is the school after the flood, everything had to be pulled out and thrown out.
Here is a picture of Robert and his dad helping to deliver and unload all the school supplies from crayons and markers to notebooks and paper.
And this is a picture with Robert and the staff. Smiles show how much having new school supplies back for these kids will mean. We were also able to leave over 50 backpacks in case any of the students needed one.
Relief Efforts here in Rosenberg!
Last sat Sept the 9th a group from our Church First Baptist Rosenberg was able to go and share some love and prayer with those just north of the Brazos River down Cummings Rd who had over 5 feet of water in most of their homes. The saddest part was, they had already been thru this last year in May and some were just now getting everything back together only to have it destroyed again. Seeing peoples lives in mud coated piles on the sides of the road was heart breaking. We as a church were able to give out buckets full of cleaning supplies, Wal-Mart gift cards, chick-fil-a sandwiches, cold drinks and the love of Jesus. While we were out our 10 teams asked who could use backpacks full of school supplies since LCISD hadn't started yet most of these kids new things were flooded in their homes. Yesterday Edward and I from my church were able to go to the 4 families who told us yes they could use school supplies and backpacks and deliver those. One family was not staying in a hotel and we were able to bring the new stuff right to them.
We are also partnering and giving backpacks full of supplies to Common Threads here in Richmond/Rosenberg. Tomorrow I will be going to drop off more backpacks and meet with their director to see what else we can provide.
